Hail to the veil!

SO our bride has selected her dress! Ahhhhh it’s a fabulous feeling, but WAIT! I get even MORE excited to know she has no idea what is coming her way! The VEIL is where it all comes together, the fashion, the shape, the gorgeous embellishment, and the perfection of styling this beautiful dress……. I place it perfectly on her head, and in my mind I’ve chosen what will style her to look over the top beautiful, with all the class and hipness you can possibly rock down the isle. The veil is more than she can imagine for herself, something so sheer that you can see directly through to the back of the dress. It cuts in gently at the hip to enhance her already gorgeous curves. The Length simply puddles softly on the floor just slightly past the train of her dress, so that when she takes a step the veil will pull away to create visual amazement right before your eyes. OK…..here they come……….wait for it……….YES here they come…………THE TEARS!!! It’s final victory!!! YES YES YES!!!! This is my favorite part of the entire experience because the bride usually never sees it coming, and I feel honored to be a part of that special moment! ~e

Vera Wang 2014~architecture and discipline

Bridal week was fast and furious. It was especially fast for the Erin Cole team as we Show our 2014 bridal accessory collection while finding time in between to do the purchasing for our Couture Bridal Salon as well. As I made my way over to Vera Wang I was very taken by the black and tan mixed with silk white for this collection. I also loved our introduction sheet for the line that read: “The spring 2014 Bridal Collection celebrates a sense of architecture and discipline.” The edgy play of texture on texture and the layering of new laces gave a new level of expression on modern sensuality. As always Vera Wang never dissapoints us on her research to not only stay ahead of the tread, but to create the trend with her luxurious fabrics and shapes. Hope you enjoy~e

What an incredible market it was! There were many surprises that were breathtaking. As always the Monique Lhuillier runway show was fabulous. The upper and lower right side photos are a quick snapshot I took from my seat as they were moving quite fast. The fabrics were lush silks of chiffon, tulle, and silk satin. The textures are all so clean and simple. Another designer that caught me by surprise this season was Carolina Herrera, the gown in the first photo shown. This was my fav for her show, the photo does NO justice…. This is hand painted lace that is blown up 10 times its normal size…. It is sooooooooooo gorgeous! Below is a fantastic gown by Elizabeth Fillmore. Simply gorgeous with its rouching and fabulous textured skirt. Stay tuned for more amazing dresses from the 2013 bridal market…..Erin
